N'awlins at heart

Keep on chooglin...

We had a wonderful Christmas. It was really great to see everyone, and I wish it could have been a longer visit. I would have blogged sooner but I have been enjoying my gifts. Thank you all!

It has been pretty quiet since I have been off of work. I got to go riding one day but of course I got rained on. Although I really didn't care, it was just nice to go ride. And the bike was filthy so the rain probably helped. It's been nice this week but I'm too busy rocking out and killing robots to make it outside.

Although I did make it to the grocery store. We finally got 100 points and I got my oven broiler thingie. Luckily I hit 100 because it was the last one (and the free pot program ends tomorrow). When I got in line the lady 2 people ahead of me had the other one. (They had 2 left when we went to the store yesterday.) Which brings me to the lady between us. On one of the endcaps (end caps?)... Well, anyways, on one of the endcaps, they have bags of foods with receipts that you can buy and give to the homeless, or something like that. The lady in front of me had one of those bags. And that was it. I was suprised and impressed. This lady came in for the sole purpose of buying food that goes straight to a poor family. And to top it off, she didn't even use a store card to get points towards anything. She definitely had holiday spirit.

I am looking forward to our visit from the S-Clan. I know Molly misses "My mine" and I miss her too. (And everyone else.) It's already starting out to be a good year.

I'm impressed with H2 also. He is going through some tough shit (I gotta curse every now and then. Reminds you that you're alive.) and I feel for him. But I know you're gonna make it. I heard you got the shoe thing down. Pretty sweet. My only fear is for them when you get pumped up and they try the different types of assault on ya. I want video of that shit. (Yeah, I said that shit again.)

And a note to ChiaPop: I had a good time chooglin with ya today. :)

Chuggin along.

Work has been crazy. I had a 40 hour a week job. My bosses' boss drug me onto another project that too a full 40. So I was slipping in my regular job when I could. Well, last Friday was coworker S' last day. So last Wednesday my boss asked if I could "handle coworker S' job in the interim". So now I have 3, count em, 3 - 40 hour a week jobs to handle during 1 - 40 hour week. That right there, that's nice.

W1 has been sick and I've been doing my best to take care of her. But I still have a tinge of sickness myself. I ran to the grocery today to get chicken soup, and discovered we have 93 points towards cookware. I'm waiting until we get 100 points so I can get the baking pan with tray.

I finally got the bike fixed. It only took 3 orders from 4 different places. (Okay, that math doesn't quite work out but I don't feel like explaining.) I got the parts put on and the weather turned to crap. It was in the 40's and wet. And since I was already sick I decided not to bother with it. I did bite the bullet last Friday and ride in. It was glorious.

I also braved Wal-Mart to pick up a stocking stuffer for W1. They were sold out at the one by my job, and at "her" Wal-Mart. But mine had them in stock so I was able to pick them up.

I am off work for 2 weeks and have settled in to a lot of GTA4 gaming. I am having a blast but it sure makes the time fly by. I wish W1 was feeling better so she can have some fun too. I guess until then I will do my best to take care of her, and play games while she sleeps.

Looking forward to our visit to NOLA. I can't wait to see everyone again. We love and miss you all.

I miss my minions.

They have locked the loading dock, so I have not seen my minions in a while. I just tell myself it's gotten cold, and they are all hibernating. Yeah, that's it.

We had a good visit to NOLA last weekend. It was great to see everyone. The (um, okay) Holiday Party (whatever, it was a freaking Christmas Party!) was a lot of fun. The first course was Turtle Soup. I almost felt guilty but I realized I didn't know those turtles personally. So it was all good. And they were delicious. I did apologize to them before each bite though.

I have to guess the wait staff was making a lot of money though. There were people carrying huge trays with 80 lbs of food and you would run into them and they got out of your way with an "Excuse me sir.". It was insane. God forbid you tried to reason with them and explain the fact that you were coming back from a smoke, and they were busting their asses with tons of heavy food. And to tell them to "Please go ahead.". They would have none of it.

It was great to see everyone, and especially having Aunt Sara in town at the same time. I have to give Ian mad props too. That breakfast he cooked us Sunday morning was wonderful. Thanks a lot man. That was some good stuff.

And while I'm thanking people, thanks definitely go out to P, J, and family, and H2 and GF. I love my X-Box 360. We got in pretty late and were tired, so I only got to play for 3 hours before we went to bed. And I guess the Xbox wasn't enough, because I also stole J's chap stick. Sorry about that. Heh Heh.

I guess that's gonna have to do it for now. My present is calling. We can't wait to see everyone again. We love and miss you all.

When you believe in things that you dont understand, Then you suffer, Superstition aint the way...

Okay, that was Stevie Wonder right there. No waiting for the *! Respect!

Anyway. I thought I would share some general ramblings. Before Thanksgiving Holidays Coworker-S mentioned he was looking for work outside of our company and he would know Monday (today) what the outcome was. He said he got the job, but now had to decide whether to take it or not. Okay, weird enough. But I try not to concern myself with all that nonsense. Instead I concern myself with others that I meet.

I always thought Coworker-S was the next in line. He went to the same church as the big boss, and they had become pretty good friends. Well I was unaware until recently there is a 2nd in command.

Since I've been in this group there are people I recognize, but don't know who they are. This particular guy is the little fuzzy baby bird. He's the quiet type that you recognize from the halls, but never know what it is they do here. That is until I was copied on a few of his emails. He is a quiet second in command but when it is time to do his job he does it well. Some of his comments sent me to the ground laughing. I have to give him props since he has found polite ways to inform people they are complete idiots. This guy is a true E-Thug. All quiet up front but will belittle the shit out of you over email. Just funny.

Work has been, well, work. I've been pulled onto a project for the last few weeks and I have to say I'm amazed. When I first started testing this thing I was coming home freaking out. I didn't even want my name associated with it, as a tester or otherwise. But it's actually improved drastically. I may have to bring it down when we visit next weekend. Mind you there are still issues. I wrote up 13 today that I found last week, but I had at least 30 more that had been fixed before I got a chance to write them up.

By the way, tomorrow is ChiaMom's birthday and I get to be the first to say "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"
